Categories
Submit your film to one of the following:
-
Narrative Film
Live-action fiction (e.g., drama, comedy). Length: 3–12 minutes. -
Documentary
Short non-fiction exploring local or global topics. Length: 5–15 minutes. -
Experimental Film
Innovative or non-traditional storytelling under 10 minutes. -
One-Minute Film
Maximum 1 minute (including credits). Any style except music videos or ads. Show us your creativity in a minute!
Note: PSAs, commercials, and trailers are not eligible.

Eligibility

Film director(s) must have been 19 or younger when the film was produced.

Films in languages other than English or Chinese must include subtitles in one of those languages.
Content Guidelines
All content must be suitable for a school audience.
The following are not allowed in any form:

Tobacco or vaping
-
Drugs or drug paraphernalia
-
Alcohol consumption or promotion
-
Pornographic or sexually explicit material
Films that do not follow these rules may be disqualified. The committee may also request edits before approval.
How to Submit

Complete the online application by 16:00 Beijing Time, January 23, 2026

Upload your film to a cloud service (e.g., Google Drive, Baidu Disk, Dropbox) and include the link in your application

Ensure the film remains accessible for download until at least one year after the festival
Film Synopsis
Include a 3-line synopsis with your application. It may be used in the festival program and promotional materials. Make it engaging! PVIFF reserves the right to edit for length and clarity.
Notification

All applicants will be notified of results by email on February 6, 2026

Use a personal email address — school domains (.edu, .gov) often block our messages

Keep info.gpff@cogdel.com in your safe-sender list and notify us of email changes
Screening Format
Selected films must provide a full-resolution QuickTime file (ProRes 422 preferred) by March 6, 2026.
Exhibition copies will not be returned. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Film Festival Organizing Committee
The period and location of the film festival is determined annually and is indicated in the Appendix to these Regulations.
Submission Agreement
By submitting a film, I confirm that:

I am authorized to submit this film and grant PVIFF permission to use it

PVIFF may use clips, stills, and my likeness for festival promotion

I consent to receive email updates and can unsubscribe at any time

I understand and accept all rules and terms of entry

No payment will be received for the film’s use in the festival

If I am under 18, a parent or guardian agrees to these terms on my behalf
